Thanksgiving!!

We had a great Thanksgiving. I was a little worried about it, with Scott not being with us, we missed him a ton, but had a really great time.
We drove to St. George the first day, then up to Angie's in Brianhead. Everyone (except Amy's Family) came there for Thanksgiving dinner. We visited, had one of the funniest Talent Shows, I had EVER seen. I didn't know we were all so talented. Allie tried to snowboard. (The snow was not good) The kids played in the snow for hours and hours. It was overall, A REALLY REALLY great trip. Thanks Haderlie's for being such great hosts!

Green Machine

We are a little behind in the blogging thing. It has been a busy couple of months. Elijah turned 6 in November. He got a Green Machine for his birthday. Everyone keeps asking him..."What is a Green Machine?" It's like a Big Wheel, but you control it by levers, that turn the two wheel in the back of the machine. It is really AWESOME! He loves it! We also had a birthday party for him at Chuck E. Cheeses'. 5 of his friends from school and church came. They had a great time! I can't believe how old he is getting. He is such a good boy. Always full of surprises, and he fills our lives with laughter. We love you Lij!

NO MORE CANDY !

About one month ago, I found a brown bag shoved way in the back of one of my cupboards. I opened it to find last year's Halloween candy! oh yeah! Just in time! We just do not seem to eat our Halloween candy. I heard on the radio that the day after Halloween, this dentist in town, buys halloween candy for $1.00 a pound. I ran it by my kids and so Saturday morning, we loaded into the van and sold our candy. We had approximately 20 lbs of candy. That is a whole lot of candy. The dentist packs all that candy up and sends it to the troops in Iraq. He was telling us that the troops then keep it in their pockets and give it to the kids in Iraq. How cool is that? I think that we have started a new tradition!

Scary Eyes!

Check out those eyes. Allie and I both ordered Vampire Red contact lens off a great website. If you want the info, let me know!

"Trunk or Treat!"

Last night was our ward's "Trunk or Treat" It was a lot of fun! We don't believe in being anything cute and fluffy. We like the scary stuff. Sam was an exception this year. He just had his cast changed, and didn't feel like dressing up before Halloween. He said that he was dressed as a Muggle. I guess that works. Can't wait to dress up on Friday too. Happy Halloween!!!

HERE WE COME!!!

If you haven't heard the news, you will right now! We are moving to the tropical paradise that Scott has been living on for almost a year now. I know, it was a shocker for us too. Scott called on Monday to tell me that they do not have a Chaplain to replace him, and that they wanted him to stay another year. Part of that deal is that we get to move over there with him! The final OK came on Thursday. All of a sudden, I am running around crazy! I'm cleaning, renting our house out, paying a fortune for passports, and everything else involved with a move. We are so excited! A little scared, but excited. We are not sure of the exact date yet, but we'll keep you all posted. I will miss friends and family a ton, but it IS only one year. Right?

"HAIL" the rain !!

Today we had one of the worst rain storms, I have seen, in the 4 years that we have lived here. It was very pretty, but I don't think that we would be able to handle much more rain, or hail. I think that we would have a FEW flooding problems.

Poop Protection!

Sam was in charge of cleaning up dog poop today. He was taking his sweet time gearing himself up for the job!

Reader at Rest!

I always check on the kids before I go to bed. This is what I found.....

Samuel's Broken Arms!!!

Yesterday, after school, Sam went out front to ride scooters with a neighbor. He was outside about 10 minutes, when he came in hysterical! He sat on the couch, crying, shaking, etc. I could tell that his left arm was broken, so I CALMLY told him to go get in the car and we would go to Urgent Care. Long story and wait. X-rays showed that he had 2 bones broken and a sprained pinky finger in his left arm, AND 2 broken bones in his right arm. He is totally covered in Road Rash, and is in a lot of pain. They wrapped him up for the night, gave him pain killers and sent us home. This morning we went to an Orthopedic, who confirmed the diagnosis, and put a couple of COOL casts on him. We're not quite sure how it's going to work with school, but we'll figure it out. He has been so brave. You can seriously see the pain in his face, but being Sam, he just lets it roll off. He even has laughed and joked about it. He always has been so easygoing, and delightful to be around. (even in bad circumstances) Sorry Buddy!

Can It Be?

Tonight my THREE oldest kids went to their first church dance! The Stake organized a two part activity for the 12-14 year olds. The first part of the activity was a luncheon, where they were taught proper manners, etc. Tonight was the second part where they were taught the proper way to dance. You know the drill....Be polite, ask nicely, don't say NO, etc. Good helpful activities, for the future.
It was quite a bit of work to convince my boys to go. Allie was alright with the whole thing. Joe was a little apprehensive. Sam was planning on spending the night in the church bathroom.
I went to pick them up (a little early) and just could not refrain myself from sneaking a peek. They were all having a great time! On the way home I got all the gory details. Sam went to go to the bathroom, but they had GUARDS at the doors, so he HAD to dance. (So much for the great plan) Joe thought it was a lot of fun. Allie was mad, because just as the guy, she wanted to ask her to dance, was heading her way, her DUMB brother jumped in front of him and asked her to dance instead. Here is the killer... When she told him (Joe) this in the car. He replied "Allie, I was just protecting you!" Allie hurls back. "I'll never go on a date let alone get married, because they will always be protecting me!" I just drove the car home with a big smile on my face. It is soooooo good to see that protective side. Can it be? They actually are concerned about each other's well being? I think that its GREAT! I am also glad that we still have a year and a half until they can go to the regular church dances. That will be a bit scary!

Question of the Day.

I get asked a million questions a day! Where is this? Where is that? How do I do this? Can so and so come and play? What is for dinner? Can i have a snack? Can I hit him? (that one usually is asked rarely) Do I have to do my chores? Why do I have to go to school? Do I have to eat that? Why does my room have to be cleaned? Why make my bed? What is soda made out of? Why can't we eat out everyday? Now times those questions and many others by 5. I seriously think I will lose my mind one day.
I was going about my day on Sunday when, out of the blue, Elijah asked. "Mom, will you still massage my feet when I have big, hairy, manly feet?" Now those spontaneous questions I love. Talk about having a good laugh! The answer was, of course, "YES!"

Tennis

Allie and Joseph are on the school's tennis team this year. They practice 3 times a week and are getting ready for their first match. They both really like it.

Lost Tooth

I can't believe that MY BABY lost his first tooth. Before school today, Elijah wanted some dental floss around his VERY loose tooth. I tied it around and then went to check to see if it was on there good, when out it popped! It was easy! He is SOOOOOO excited about the Tooth Fairy coming tonight. He says he is going to wake up, grab him by the wings, and SHAKE him. I guess the Tooth Fairy better be careful.

SWEET!

Tuesday night Elijah and I went to a Court of Honor for Joe and Sam. When the meeting was over, I was sitting on the back row. Elijah comes up behind me, wraps his arms around me and says in my ear. "You are surrounded in LOVE!" How sweet is that?

Twilight!

Yes, I am a little obsessed with the Twilight series. If you haven't read them, then you really should. I don't think there is anyone who loves these books more than my sister, Amy. She should get some help! I love you Amy! (Thank you Julie for the idea, I miss you!)

Emergency Room AGAIN!

I was at work this morning, when the phone rang. It was the school nurse saying that Elijah was pushing a friend in a swing when it came back and hit him in the eye. She said very calmly that she thought he needed a couple of stitches. Off I went to spend the day in the ER. Poor little boy! He was not happy to be there. They ended up just super glueing it, and holding it tight with a butterfly strip. That looked more painful than the injury itself. Elijah was so brave and is now good and drugged on Advil. There is never a dull moment at the Brill house, or school.

ISOTOPES BASEBALL!

Last night we were all very excited to go to the baseball game. Elijah was the most excited, and there were others who did not appreciate his excitement. "Mom, can you tell Elijah to stop yelling in my ear?" Was said at least 40 times. Needless to say, we all had a great time! A little bit of a headache , by the end. We won 16 to 8! Lots of Home Runs! It was fun to see how far the ball really goes. Thank you Dr. Stoddard for the tickets!

Dog Park

We took Maggie to the dog park tonight for Family Home Evening. It was really a pretty night, and we got some really cute pictures.

Grandpa and Grandma Berrett

We got a surprise phone call last Monday. Grandpa and Grandma Berrett were on their way to West Virginia, where they are serving a mission. We got to enjoy their company. It was a quick visit, we went to eat and then rode up to see the temple. It was such a nice visit, and it was so good to see them. We love you Grandpa and Grandma! Just a note, Elijah was there with us. He was throwing a fit. He can be seen in the left corner. Fun, Fun!!

First Day of 7th Grade!!!

I just can't believe it!!! That's all I have to say about it!
