While in GTMO, Elijah heard the Star Spangled Banner everyday, twice a day. He sang it constantly. When we got home to our piano, he sat down one day, and after, about a half an hour, was playing The Star Spangled Banner. We were all in awe!! I signed him up for piano lessons immediately, but we only lasted about a month. He hated playing from a book. He has since learned to play several different songs, that he loves to sing, but WILL NOT play by the book. His teacher said we need to find someone who teaches the Suzuki method. I guess that the Suzuki method goes more by ear, and Elijah's style of playing. The kid is AMAZING!

Sara,
Isn't it wonderful to have a talented kid that doesn't want to practice that talent. I bet Elijah is a lot like Mozart. I don't think he would have enjoyed being taught out of a primer book either. He just jumped in. Good Luck. Can't wait to see you in blue this fall. Love ya tons bosom buddy, Heidi
Wow! He has a gift for sure - definitely go for Suzuki!
